Diving in the Dominican Republic
With diverse marine life offered by healthy coral reefs, and shore and local boat diving being the popular methods to get into the water, The Caribbean provides a relaxed atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of large groups of divers, with good visibility and the common sightings of those sought after sharks and turtles.
With the majority of dive sites being within a 10-15 minutes boat trip from the shore, this is convenience at its best. The laid back atmosphere is perfect for an uncrowded dive, and this continues back on shore – coconut palms on powder sand beaches, reggae, salsa and calypso music on the breeze, and a tropical cocktail in hand – Just Perfect!
The variety of diving in the Caribbean provides an ideal underwater landscape for all levels of divers – gentle dives in clear, warm and calm waters with fantastic coral and marine life for the beginner, to challenging drift dives, awesome wrecks and deep walls with plentiful pelagic encounters. Learning to dive couldn't be easier too – accreditation bodies such as PADI, CMAS and ACUC are found everywhere, and BSAC dive centres are common too.
Deep Thought
A perfect destination for divers and non-divers alike. Lots to see and do above and below the water. You won't regret it!
