spice island ambon.12.jpeg

Ambon Island is located in the Maluku Archipelago, once known as the Spice Islands, nestled between Sulawesi and Papau with Raja Ampat to the north and Bali to the southeast.  Throughout history, the island has been a center point for trading spices and you can still get some taste of it from their local markets.

Diving Ambon

Ambon is a hidden gem in Indonesia with very few tourists and friendly locals. A volcanic island with lush rainforests and fabulous landscape, this off the beaten path island offers world class muck diving. Ambon Bay gives divers the opportunity to see some the rarest and most beautiful underwater creatures on the planet.  Expect rhinopia, all sorts of shrimps and crabs, mimic and wonderpus, varieties of ghost pipefish, seahorse and frogfish!  Pack that macro lens!  But it's not all about muck.  The southeast side of Ambon offers pristine diving with deep walls, healthy corals amazing drop-offs and swim-throughs, large fish and sea mounds and volcanic vents in Baguala Bay.
